Orders (Answers)
A.

We have 2 auction formats, falling price auctions and rapid drop auctions.

In our falling price auctions, you decide the price you want to pay. The price can be as low you like because its an auction, but in reverse. The price falls until you decide to buy. If nobody buys, the price keeps falling but dont wait too long because there is strictly limited stock and once its gone, its gone.

With our rapid drop auctions, we only drop the price once to our very lowest price. Its first come first served, so be quick to get your bid in!

As with any auction, before buying, you must bid. For example, if ten rings are for sale, the price will continue to drop as bids are received for the rings. The quantity is reduced every time a bid is received. But you have nothing to lose from getting in early to secure your purchase as everybody pays the final lowest price! So if you bid for an item first when the price is 50 you can relax, knowing that you will pay the final lowest price (the price of the last item to be sold) which could be as low as 1 or even FREE. Remember you are bidding against other Television and Website bidders. The only way you can lose is to miss out completely!

As we manufacture our own Jewellery, and sell direct to you the consumer, we cut out the middleman to bring you our products at great prices.

What should I expect from an independent valuation for insurance?

Valuations on pieces from The Jewellery Channel should reflect the average cost you would have to pay to replace the item if it were lost or stolen. The valuation should reflect the cost to you of making an exact replica and therefore be for a piece that is identical in aspects such as carat weight, colour, clarity and cut.

A.

To obtain a true value of your item, you need to contact an independent valuer who is trained in gemstone valuation. A comprehensive valuation would usually require a Jeweller to dismantle the item in order to calculate the carat weight and cuts of the gems that are not visible to the naked eye. (Please note, if your item is dismatled, you will invalidate your right to return the product). To avoid the jeweller from having to do this, you can show them your authenticity card.

A.
Each piece of Jewellery we sell comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Depending on the nature of the product, information can include details such as Shape, CTW, Cut, Colour, Dimensions, Count, Composition, Treatment, Gemstone Group, Setting, Product Type, Style, Length, Width, Weight, Closure Link, Material Type, Material Colour and Material Purity.
A.
As the auctions we run are a falling price format, we initially start the game at a randomized price and start falling. The start price does not infer any market value or worth.
A.

Organisations in our industry agreed in 2003 on a program of self-regulation to complement the Kimberley Process created by the governments of nations involved in the diamond trade. We at The Jewellery Channel welcomed the introduction of this global system to combat the illicit traffic in conflict diamonds and our policy has been to support the industry's self-regulation program.

The core of that program is a chain of warranties that follows rough diamonds, polished diamonds and jewellery containing diamonds through the supply chain. For every product we sell containing diamonds we offer the following statement: The Jewellery Channel only sells diamonds purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. The Jewellery Channel hereby guarantees that the diamonds contained in all our products are certified to be from sources that are free from conflict, based on personal knowledge, and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds

As a trade member supporting this program, we are continuing to encourage other vendors of diamonds and diamond products to adhere to this code of practice. For further information about the diamond trade and the system of warranties see www.diamondfacts.org
