Sapphire Rings – Rich Gemstones To Compliment Gold and Silver Rings as well as Pendants and Earrings

The word sapphire originates from the Greek word sappheiros to mean ‘blue stone’. Arguably that is somewhat of an understatement on two counts. Firstly, sapphires are much more than a stone, they are one of the most sought after gemstones and secondly gemstones are available in many colours. The gemstone’s stunning hue, saturation and tone make sapphire the perfect companion to compliment gold and silver rings, earrings and pendants. Although sapphires are most associated with blue, sapphires are found in a huge range of colours that are determined by where they are mined and how they are treated. This allows modern jewellers to make a widely diverse selection of products by using sapphire’s natural colours that come in variants including pink, purple, orange, black, violet and green

Sapphire today is predominantly mined in Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Australia, Myanmar, India, Thailand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Kenya and China. The natural stone is brought to resplendent life through careful treatment and repeated polishing. The next stage involves skilled crafting to shape the finished sapphire with delicately angled faces and features. Depending on how the gemstone is treated,  variants to the traditional blue sapphire can emerge. Here at The Jewellery Channel, we carry that same level of care and craftsmanship and take the finest sapphires and set them in stunning sapphire rings and other jewellery pieces. Take for example some of our most popular sapphire rings – the Madagascar Blue Sapphire is set in 9K gold. The gemstone works perfectly with the opulence of the gold and fully showcases the depth of the blue gemstone. Sapphire’s many colours and hues are highly versatile and look equally stunning set in silver sapphire rings. We invite you to browse through our range of royal sapphire rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants which we are confident will meet your discerning tastes.
