Chrysoberyl cat’s eye or cymophane in Greek means, “waving light”. The stone gets its name owing to its effect. Fine parallel inclusions produce a silver-white line, which appears as a moving light ray in a cabochon-cut stone. It is similar to the pupil of a cat.
