Since medieval times, Zircon is said to have brought wisdom, honour and wealth to the one who possesses it. It is especially priced for protecting travelers from harm, and even today, the Hindus believe that Zircon can stimulate spiritual growth.

Zircon is the December birthstone and is associated with the sun signs Taurus and Scorpio.

Gomed Medak, Hessonite, and Cinnamon Stone are the alternative names of Zircon.
